SMALL FLOWER, Aluminum, reclaimed iron 205 x 85 x 116 cm

Giulia Cenci’s sculptural work explores the intersection between the natural and the artificial, the human and the technological, giving shape to a futuristic aesthetic situated within the context of the post-Anthropocene. Through the technique of casting, the artist assembles objects, mechanical components, and fragments of human and animal bodies, creating complex and hybrid compositions suspended between organic and mechanical realities.
Small Flower, the sculpture created for CastelGiocondo, reinterprets the function of the pole that supports the vine row: around it coils a creature born from the fusion of animal and plant worlds. The work evokes a future time in which interspecies crossings give rise to indefinable beings, manifestations of humanity’s desire to dominate and transform nature without limits or consequences.
